Article: Introducing TIBA + MARL ECO

Introducing TIBA + MARL ECO

For some time as a brand we have been working on making positive changes to reduce our impact on the environment, with the long-term commitment to make a cleaner, more livable planet for our future generations.

As part of our on-going commitment to sustainabilty we are launching a more planet-friendly option of our best-selling Elwood Backpack, and Etta Changing Clutch in collaboration with Selfridges as part of their Project Earth campaign. Eco Elwood and Eco Etta are crafted from 100% recycled plastic ripstop nylon - and it's what's inside that counts too - as the interior lining, changing mat and cross-body clutch are all created from 100% recycled plastic nylon - also the bags are packaged in biodegradable non-toxic poly bags that can be disposed off in compost or dissolved in boiling water.

“This is just the beginning of our eco journey as a brand, and we are continually working hard to be as sustainable as possible without compromising on the style, design and function ethos Tiba + Marl is known for”

Whilst all our bags have been 100% vegan and cruelty free since 2015, we appreciate that this is just the beginning of our eco journey and we look forward to introducing more sustainable options to our range, and near future initiatives include swapping ALL linings to recycled materials, and ensuring all packaging to be biodegradable (currently all packaging is either recyclable or oxo-biodegradable).

Whilst it has been a slow labour of love to bring this new collection to market, since 2018 we have been partnering with a Carbon Offset organisation where we have been donating a proportion of profits from each bag sold, to 3 UK and International carbon reduction projects, and to date have offset 165 tonnes of carbon dioxide.

You can also find lifestyle products within our Eco collection, in 2018 we launched our T+M skincare range in collaboration with organic, ethical UK based brand Honest skincare, where we created a micro-collection of  products using 100% natural ingredients and packaging that is simple, biodegradable and reusable - as well as never tested on animals.

If you want to snuggle up your baby in style and safe in the knowledge that no nasties are near their precious skin, we have also introduced a beautiful 100% organic jersey cotton blanket made using GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified cotton.

We look forward to growing our range, and would love to hear your feedback on what you would like to see, and we will always appreciate any suggestions as to any steps we could take to become more environmentally conscious.
