TOP 10 BABY SHOWER TIPS
Whether You Have Months To Plan Or Just A Few Short Days There Is An Easy Way To Plan A Baby Shower That Minimises Stress
1.
First things first make sure you choose your date and pick your venue! Make sure your booking is confirmed and if you are inviting anyone with babies that the space is accessible.
2.
Try to have a brain storm of a theme you might like have look on Pinterest and Etsy try to choose a colour scheme/ theme. This is going to really help when reaching out to suppliers. Make sure you include all the important information when reaching out to suppliers (date, time, location, colours). This will make everything straight forward and easy for companies to tell you if they have spare slots for that date before going backwards and forwards!
3.
Personalised touches - a baby shower is all about the expectant mother and any personalised touches are going to make her feel so special and loved. Also decide on any balloon decor you may or may not choose to have. If you are creating something like a balloon arch it may be worth borrowing a balloon pump. We love Leigh-on-Sea based @otherletters for beautiful decorations, and personalised banners.
4.
Baked goods - my go to Girl for all cakes and bakes is Becca from @eldercottagebakery we have worked together for nearly 4 years. Her cakes not only have the wow factor but have the most unique flavours as any of our clients will tell you. See below some ideas for baby shower bakes…
5.
Balloon Garlands & back drops - balloons are definitely not what they used to be at a party and the creativity and installations that are coming from the balloon world are something else - safe to say there is something for everyone. Whether you just fancy a small install to compliment your cake or a big install with a back drop included they are the perfect addition to any baby shower and are a really fab place to have beautiful photos for you and your guests. Balloon arches add a lovely backdrop for photos.
6.
Florals - incorporating any kind of florals to you set up is going to add that super luxe feel - weather its a few small jars scattered or big beautiful bunches you could even go as far as adding florals to your balloon displays for that extra wow back drop. Ask your babyshower invitees if they have spare empty jam jars to add floral blooms into.
7.
Food - in my personal opinion the perfect food for a baby shower is a grazing table - not only do they have the wow factor but it also allows people to pick and nibble as they go along as most showers are held in the afternoon people are just maybe wanting a light snack and not a full meal. There are tones of fab companies out there doing these including @thegrazedaze & @fabulouslyfed - you could even try to put one together yourself.
8.
Games and entertainment - there are so many amazing games to play at a baby shower and most of this is available for you to download and print of yourself from the internet, games are a great way to get everyone involved together as in some situations family may not have meet each other before and not everyone will no each other. Go to games - guess the weight, guess the date, how many sweets in the bottle, guess the chocolate in the nappy (often a firm fave as you can imagine what this looks like) baby bingo & so many more.
9.
Gifting for Mumma to be - everyone liked to spoil a mummy to be at a shower - asking for a gift list to be put together is a great way to ensure people have choice of the gift they buy, the expecting mother doesn’t end up with tones of stuff they don’t want and even doubles. Obviously any stylish Mama-to-be will be over the moon with T+M gift or voucher! The larger styles come with a dust bags that you add a ribbon too for a simple gift wrap.
10.
Gifts for your guests, its often a very sweet thing to give your guest a little treat to leave with - this doesn’t have to be expensive but will be a nice memory of the day - some of my faves to recommend are a nice bath sponge with a sign saying “From my shower to You” - perhaps a small beverage to be opened when baby arrives, a small candle that can be lit when baby arrives, a small bag of pop corn with a label “ready to pop”
I hope you have found these tips helpful thank you so much Adele x
